Towards a Portfolio of Products and Services

One of the big mistakes I made with ResponseHub: going all in with ResponseHub as my online identity and presence before it got escape velocity.

It’s meant I’ve not been able to talk about some of the experimentation and client work I’ve been doing alongside building ResponseHub.

Today I’m giving my online presence an overhaul to bring things back into balance.

The goal of ResponseHub was to use AI to automate away a very specific type of drudgery. What I’ve seen in the process is a generational opportunity to use AI to automate away all kinds of drudgery across all sorts of domains.

Back in early 2025 I assumed I would put significant effort into building one application and that would be my only thing. By the end of 2025 the effort of building something collapsed to essentially zero. I think ResponseHub could have been a viable business / product in 2024. In 2026 the low-to-mid end of the market has too many substitutes — e.g. vibe coded tools and “not great but good-enough” workarounds like using Claude Cowork.

Going forward I’m going to be something much more interesting:

• Building and running a portfolio of revenue generating products, of which ResponseHub is the first.
• Building and releasing open source tools that automate away drudgery (more on this soon).
• Working side by side with a small number of clients to help them build an exceptionally lean, exceptionally productive, AI-native organisation; achieved through applied AI, agent deployment and workflow automation. (If this sounds interesting, drop me an email.)
